The Book Devotions

A bundle of book reviews 🎊

Published 2 months ago • 1 min read

Hey there, Reader!

Ready for some good, clean fun?

I've got a new batch of book reviews hot off the press.

It's been a while since my monthly reading mix was so...mixy.

I read...

  • a nonfiction on productivity (Christian)
  • a modern mystery-thriller (a Reese pick)
  • two YA fantasies (old and new)
  • a YA dystopian (addicting!)
  • several historical middle-grades (wholesome as apples)

I also included one DNF because I think some of you might love this author, even though her books weren’t my cup of tea at this moment in time.

Want to add your idea to my upcoming article?

Think about an author you love. This person is writing books right now and hasn't yet risen to J. K. Rowling-level fame (but totally deserves it). How do you support this person's work? How do you show them love?

Click reply and tell me something you've done to support an author on his or her journey, and I'll include it in my upcoming article.

What father among you, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
–Luke 11:11-13

😌 Finding the faith to do less by author S. D. Smith

📜 Interested in having professor Karen Swallow Prior teach you Shakespeare? She's doing it here for free.

😯 The gang at Close Reads is reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I'm girding my loins and joining along—you can join, too. This Pulitzer winner has been on my shelf for too long, and I may need their insight to help me through this dismal journey.

😜 Four minutes of pure silliness to close out Fairy Tale February.

As always, I'll leave you with one irresistible indulgence—for those of you who love to keep track.

Your devoted,

Michelle

P.S. Take a look-see at what I read in February. I hope you find something for your TBR!
